Journal History

Jurnal Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan Indonesia (JPHPI), formerly known as Buletin Teknologi Hasil Perikanan, was established in 1996 at the Department of Aquatic Product Technology. Since 2010, the publication of JPHPI has been jointly managed by the Department of Aquatic Product Technology and Masyarakat Pengolahan Hasil Perikanan Indonesia (MPHPI). 

Previously, JPHPI published issue articles quarterly until 2023. Beginning with Volume 27 Number 8 (2024), each issue is published monthly with 8 articles per issue, focusing on biochemical aspects of fisheries, biotechnology for fisheries, food processing, raw material characteristics, and aquatic product quality. 

JPHPI is accredited as Sinta 1 by the Directorate General of Research Strengthening and Development under the Decree Number 72/E/KPT/2024. JPHPI  has been indexed in Scopus, Science and Technology Index (SINTA), Garuda, and Google Scholar.

Focus and Scope

JPHPI publishes manuscripts in the field of marine post-harvest, aquatic biotechnology, aquatic biochemistry, aquatic product diversification, and characteristics of aquatic raw materials. In addition, JPHPI also publishes research about aquatic product quality, standardization, and other researches within the field of aquatic product technology.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle of making research freely available to the public to supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Revenue Sources

This journal is funded from funds from the author-paid Article Processing Charge (APC).

Advertising and Direct Marketing Policy

We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint or other commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition JPHPI  and Editorial Board assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful and necessary. JPHPI utilize direct marketing activities. The price per copy is IDR50.000 (excluding shipping costs).

Archiving Policy

JPHPI uses a free utility called the Public Knowledge Project's (PKP) PN Archiving Plugin. By automatically uploading articles into the PKP PN Archiving Service, this plugin helps to widely distribute and preserve JPHPI's scholarly materials, therefore facilitating the archiving process.

Repository Policy

JPHPI supports open access and sharing of scholarly works to make it easier for people to work together and share information. Authors can archive pre-prints of their manuscripts, authors are encouraged to deposit the accepted version of their articles, and authors can share the publisher's version/PDF of manuscripts in repositories and on personal websites. This policy also covers repository archiving permissions for published articles under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license, while acknowledging that authors still own the copyright to their works.
