Intervensi Edukasi Berbasis Masyarakat melalui Program Bintang Kecil di Kelurahan Jenggot, Pekalongan

The Bintang Kecil Program was implemented in Jenggot Village, Pekalongan City, as an effort to raise awareness among children and parents regarding the importance of higher education. This program was carried out with the aim of increasing children’s motivation to learn so that they would be eager to continue their education to higher levels and become more aware of the importance of learning. The background of this program was the high rate of out-of-school children due to economic constraints, lack of motivation, and the need for family support. The methods used include interactive discussions, learning through play, evaluation via pre-test and post-test, creative activities involving handicrafts, and scholarship outreach to parents through PKK cadres. The results of the activities indicate an increase in children’s motivation to achieve their aspirations, a better understanding of the benefits of education, and greater parental participation in supporting the continuity of their children’s education through the utilization of scholarship information. The main challenges encountered were time constraints and changes in the activity schedule; however, these were overcome through adaptive strategies and support from local stakeholders. This program has the potential to be further developed as a model for community-based educational empowerment in regions facing similar challenges.
