Post-Publication Discussion
Jurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Agri-Informatika (JIKA) welcomes constructive scholarly discussion of the articles it publishes. Peer review does not end the scientific conversation, so readers, researchers, and practitioners are encouraged to raise comments, questions, and critiques about published articles. Discussion must be based on scientific evidence and conducted in a respectful, professional manner.
How to submit a comment
Comments on a published article should be sent to the editorial office at jika@apps.ipb.ac.id, with the subject line “Post-Publication Comment” followed by the article title. A comment should include:
- The full citation or DOI of the article being discussed.
- The commenter’s name, affiliation, and contact details.
- A clear and concise statement of the concern, supported by evidence or references (for example, specific data, analyses, or published work).
- A declaration of any competing interests.
How comments are handled
- The editorial office acknowledges receipt of the comment and the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor assesses whether it is relevant, substantiated, and within scientific scope.
- The authors of the article are informed of the comment and invited to respond within a reasonable time.
- Where needed, the editor may consult independent reviewers or members of the editorial board.
- Based on the assessment, the journal may:
- take no further action, if the comment does not identify a substantive issue;
- publish a correction (erratum or corrigendum) if an error is confirmed;
- issue an expression of concern, or retract the article, if serious problems are found, in line with COPE guidelines.
The editor’s decision is based on the scientific merit of the comment and the authors’ response. Comments that are abusive, defamatory, anonymous without justification, or unrelated to the article will not be considered.
Relationship with other policies
Concerns about suspected research or publication misconduct (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or authorship disputes) are handled separately under the journal’s policy on allegations of research misconduct and its publication ethics statement.
