What is Crossmark?

Crossmark is a Crossref initiative that gives readers a standard way to find the current version of a piece of content.

By applying the Crossmark button, Media Konservasi commits to maintaining its published content and to alerting readers if and when changes occur.

  1. Find the buttonEvery article published since Vol. 28 No. 3 (2023) carries the Crossmark button.
  2. Click itA panel opens with information about the article.
  3. Check the statusSee whether you are reading the current version, or whether an update has been published.

Types of update

When an article is updated, Crossmark shows one of the following:

Corrections & additions
  • CorrectionA general correction to the article.
  • ErratumCorrects an error made by the publisher.
  • CorrigendumCorrects an error made by the authors.
  • AddendumAdds information to the article.
  • ClarificationClarifies part of the article without changing its findings.
New versions
  • New versionAn updated version of the article has been published.
  • New editionA new edition of the content has been published.
Concerns, retractions & removals
  • Expression of concernAlerts readers to a possible problem while it is being investigated.
  • Partial retractionPart of the article has been retracted.
  • RetractionThe whole article has been retracted.
  • WithdrawalThe article has been withdrawn.
  • RemovalThe article has been removed, e.g., for legal reasons.
