Abstract

Karacak Village holds significant potential in the fisheries sector, particularly in tilapia farming. However, nutritional education especially for children remains limited, and diversification of fishery products has not been widely implemented. This activity targets children and the community as participants in tilapia nugget processing training. The training aims to increase animal protein consumption in a way that’s more accessible to children, while also empowering households by improving skills in processing and marketing processed fishery product. The implementation method included nutrition education, entrepreneurship motivation, exploration of fishery business potential, introduction to digital marketing platforms and the IPB Digitani application, and a demonstration of fish processing into nuggets as an innovative value-added product. The community showed strong enthusiasm during the activities, asking questions about e-commerce registration and the nutritional content of fish nuggets. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in participants' knowledge and skills related to innovative food processing. Technical challenges such as noise interference from children during the presentation were noted as areas for future improvement. The program sparked high interest among participants to start independent businesses in tilapia nugget production, which may contribute to increasing household income and strengthening food and nutrition security. Sustained efforts are needed through regular mentoring, utilization of digital platforms like e-commerce and IPB Digitani, collaboration with village government and relevant institutions, and development of other fish-based processed products to optimize the local fishery potential in Karacak Village.
