By submitting an article to Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Kelautan Tropis (JITKT), the author affirms that the manuscript is an original work and that no part of the article is plagiarized from any external sources. All content that has been sourced from other works, including ideas, text, or data, must be properly cited and referenced in accordance with academic standards.
JITKT upholds a strict stance on plagiarism, and any detected instances will be addressed with immediate and appropriate action. Specifically, the following protocol will be followed if a manuscript is found to contain more than 20% similarity with other sources:
1. Request for Revision
If the manuscript contains a similarity level exceeding 20%, the author will be notified and required to revise the manuscript. The author will be asked to reduce the similarity by either:
o Paraphrasing the sections that are too similar to the source material.
o Properly citing the sources from which the content is drawn.
o Removing problematic sections of the manuscript that cannot be adequately revised.
2. Direct Rejection for High Similarity
In cases where the level of similarity is exceedingly high or is deemed to be clear plagiarism, the manuscript will be rejected immediately without further review.
All submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial screening process. This includes using Turnitin software to detect similarities between the submitted manuscript and existing published content. This step ensures that all articles adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and originality.
JITKT is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in publishing and takes plagiarism very seriously to safeguard the credibility of the journal and its authors.
