Archiving Policy

Digital Archive
Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Kelautan Tropis (JITKT) is committed to ensuring the long-term availability, preservation, and accessibility of scientific research published in the journal. In pursuit of these goals, the journal continuously works to convert and upgrade digital file formats to comply with the latest technological standards. To ensure the integrity and security of digital content, JITKT utilizes advanced systems for data management. Specifically, we employ Linux Cron jobs to automate system maintenance and administration tasks. These automated processes include regular system file backups, which are performed every Sunday at 01:00 WIB, and database backups, which are carried out daily at 00:30 WIB. This approach guarantees the reliable storage and retrieval of content, ensuring that all published materials are securely archived and remain accessible for future reference.

Local Archives
To further support the preservation of digital content, JITKT maintains state-of-the-art local facilities dedicated to storing complete and accurate digital versions of all published articles. The current standard file formats for archived content include .docx and .pdf, with most files stored in both formats to maximize accessibility and compatibility. The website archives all electronic content—comprising both manuscripts and supplementary materials—on an online server utilizing the Open Journal System (OJS). This system allows readers to access the most recent versions of published research. In addition to this primary online server, we maintain backup copies of the same content stored on separate servers to safeguard against potential data loss and ensure the availability of the journal’s content at all times.

Self-Archiving
Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Kelautan Tropis encourages and supports self-archiving, empowering authors to increase the visibility and accessibility of their research. Authors are permitted to upload the final version of their published articles to personal or institutional repositories immediately upon publication. This practice allows researchers to share their work with a broader audience, enhancing the impact of their research. In accordance with this, authors are required to provide proper bibliographic details when archiving their work, ensuring that appropriate credit is given to the journal and its publication. This approach not only enhances the dissemination of research but also aligns with the journal's commitment to open access and scholarly communication.
