PENILAIAN KESEHATAN MANGROVE DI DESA JAGO JAGO, KABUPATEN TAPANULI TENGAH, SUMATERA UTARA

Abstract

The aim of the study is to analyze the percentage of mangrove canopy in Jago Jago Village of North Sumatra. The hemispherical photographic method was used to determine the mangrove canopy. This method provides more accurate information because the area captured by the camera is more precise, thus depicting the actual tree canopy cover. This study was conducted in September 2022 at 6 stations. Location station of the study was determined using purposive sampling. Data collection of the mangrove canopy used a 12-megapixel camera resolution. This technique was applied on a measuring 10x10 m² and analyzed using by ImageJ software. The results of the study showed that there were 8 species of mangrove found in the Jago Jago Village namely Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora apiculata, Xylocarpus granatum, Bruguiera sexangula, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Ceriops tagal, Lumnitzera littorea, and Nypa fruticans. The density value ranged from 1,400 to 1,708.67 ind/ha, and the average mangrove canopy cover value was 76,15%, which is classified as dense.
