Peneguhan diagnosa scabiosis metode sitologi kulit pada kucing domestik di Kota Malang
Abstract
Hewan harus terbebas dari rasa sakit dan penyakit, merupakan salah satu aspek dari “Five Freedom of Life”. Kucing domestik liar banyak dijumpai di kota Malang, baik di jalanan dan pasar yang diduga terkena Scabiosis. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran, kepedulian, dan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap kesehatan hewan melalui pelayanan pemeriksaan fisik kesehatan dan pemeriksaan penunjang dengan metode sitologi kulit. Teknik scrapping kulit digunakan untuk peneguhan diagnosa Scabiosis sebagai dasar untuk penanganan dan pengobatan. Kucing yang positif menderita scabiosis dilakukan tindakan kuratif, preventif dan pemberian supportif. Hasil sitologi pada 85 ekor kucing menunjukkan sebanyak 38 ekor kucing liar positif ditemukan parasit dan 47 lainnya tidak ditemukan parasit.
