Post-Publication Discussion
Jurnal Ilmu Gizi dan Dietetik welcomes constructive discussion of published articles. Post-publication discussion provides an opportunity for readers, researchers, and practitioners to examine findings, clarify methods, and contribute to scientific understanding in nutrition and dietetics.
This policy complements the journal’s Publication Ethics Statement.
1. Scope of Discussion
Readers may submit comments or questions concerning:
-
Research methods, analyses, and interpretation.
-
The accuracy or completeness of reported information.
-
Relevant evidence that supports or challenges the findings.
-
Implications for research, nutrition practice, or public policy.
-
Possible errors requiring clarification or correction.
Comments must be relevant, respectful, and supported by evidence where appropriate. Personal attacks, discriminatory language, promotional content, and unsupported accusations are not acceptable.
2. How to Submit a Comment
Comments should be sent to:
Email: jurnalgizidietetik@apps.ipb.ac.id
Suggested subject: Post-Publication Discussion – [Article Title or DOI]
Submissions should include:
-
The title and DOI or URL of the article.
-
The contributor’s name, affiliation, and contact email.
-
A clear explanation of the comment or question.
-
Supporting references or documentation, where relevant.
-
A declaration of any relevant conflicts of interest.
Readers should avoid including identifiable participant information or other confidential material.
3. Editorial Assessment
The editorial team will assess comments for relevance, clarity, accuracy, and scientific value. Further clarification or independent expert advice may be requested.
Where appropriate, the corresponding author of the original article will be invited to respond. The editorial team may request revisions from contributors and authors to improve clarity and ensure that the discussion remains focused on the evidence.
Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication. Decisions will be based on scientific relevance and editorial assessment.
4. Publication of Comments and Responses
Comments that warrant public discussion may be published as editorially reviewed correspondence, accompanied by an author response where available.
Published correspondence will identify the article being discussed and include a link to it. Relevant conflicts of interest will be disclosed. The editorial team may conclude an exchange when the main issues have been adequately addressed.
Scientific disagreement alone does not establish an error or misconduct.
5. Errors and Research Integrity Concerns
Comments identifying possible errors will be assessed to determine whether clarification, correction, or another editorial action is appropriate.
Allegations of research misconduct will be handled through the journal’s publication ethics procedures rather than treated solely as an exchange of opinions.
Authors who discover a significant error in their published work must promptly notify the journal and cooperate in resolving the matter.
6. Confidentiality
Unpublished correspondence and supporting documents will be handled confidentially and shared only as necessary for editorial assessment.
Contributors will be informed before their correspondence is published. Personal contact information will not be published without permission.
