Electronic Archiving Policy

Jurnal Ilmu Gizi dan Dietetik

Jurnal Ilmu Gizi dan Dietetik is committed to maintaining the availability, integrity, and continuity of its electronic publications. Electronic archiving and backup procedures support the protection of journal records and the recovery of information following technical disruption or data loss.

1. Published Content

Published articles and issue information are available through the journal website. Readers may access previous issues through the Journal Archives.

The editorial office will maintain copies of final published articles and associated publication records to support continued access and editorial administration.

2. Weekly Backup Procedure

The editorial office will coordinate with the IPB journal portal administrator to arrange weekly backups of journal data and files.

The backup scope will include:

  • Journal database records, including article metadata and editorial workflow information.

  • Submitted manuscripts, revised versions, review files, and publication files.

  • System configuration information required for recovery, as managed by the portal administrator.

Server-level backups and restoration will be handled by authorized administrators. The editorial office will retain supplementary copies of publication files and other records within its authorized access.

3. Storage and Confidentiality

Backup copies will be stored separately from the active journal system, with access restricted to authorized personnel. Multiple dated versions will be retained to support recovery from accidental deletion, file corruption, or other technical incidents.

Unpublished manuscripts, reviewer reports, personal information, and editorial correspondence will remain confidential. Backup files containing these records will not be made publicly accessible.

4. Verification and Recovery

Backup activities will be documented, including the backup date, scope, storage location, and responsible personnel.

Backup completeness and file readability will be checked periodically. Restoration procedures will also be tested periodically in coordination with the portal administrator.

Following a technical incident, the editorial office and administrator will assess the affected records, restore available backups, and verify the recovered information.

5. Long-Term Preservation

The journal will coordinate with IPB University to strengthen long-term preservation and publication continuity. Any participation in an external preservation service will be stated on this page after its activation has been verified.
