Bangkala District of Jeneponto Regency of South Sulawesi has potential for a center of salt production development. This study aims to describe water quality and salt conditions in salt ponds (added Artemia and without Artemia), which was carried out through study conducted from December 2015 to March 2016. Primary data collection was carried out to determine the condition of water quality (temperature, pH, salinity, DO), and salt quality (NaCl, Ca, Mg), and salt condition. Based on the study, it was known that the water quality consisting of temperature, pH, salinity, and DO of the salt ponds were 30-36°C, 88-92‰, 7.1-7.9, and 3.7-4.7 ppm, respectively. The quality of salt in the study area had an average content of NaCl (83.30-95.6‰), Calcium (Ca) (0.16-0.32‰), and Magnesium (Mg) (0.12-0.28‰) which was generally classified as moderate-good quality.
