Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Jurnal Ilmu Keluarga dan Konsumen (JIKK) recognizes the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including generative AI tools, in scholarly publishing. Authors, editors, and reviewers remain responsible for the integrity of their respective roles in the publication process.

1. AI Use by Authors

Authors must disclose whether or not AI was used in the preparation of their article. AI may only be used in accordance with the requirements specified in the Author Guidelines, Section C.12.1.

AI must not be listed as an author. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, confidentiality, integrity, and content of their manuscript, including any work prepared with the assistance of AI.

2. AI Use by Editors

AI must not be used by Editors to replace scientific judgment or editorial decision-making. Editors remain responsible for the editorial decisions made.

3. AI Use in Peer Review

The use of AI by reviewers in the peer review process is strictly prohibited.

Reviewers must not use AI to:

1. analyze a submitted manuscript;
2. evaluate or assess a submitted manuscript;
3. generate, draft, or formulate peer review comments or recommendations; or
4. enter or upload a submitted manuscript or any part of a manuscript into an AI application.

Peer review must be conducted independently by the assigned reviewer based on the reviewer's own academic expertise and judgment.

4. Responsibility and Accountability

The use of AI by Authors or Editors does not relieve them of their respective responsibilities for the originality, confidentiality, and integrity of the article, as well as for the editorial decisions made.
