Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between sugar, salt, and fat (GGL) consumption, sleep quality, and physical activity with central obesity among educational staff at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta. The study population comprised employees aged 23 to 58 years, with a higher proportion of males (67.1%) compared to females. This observational study utilized a cross-sectional design conducted from May to June 2024. The sampling technique employed was Simple Random Sampling, involving 82 participants. Data collection was performed using questionnaires and anthropometric measurements. GGL consumption was assessed through SQ-FFQ interviews with each participant, sleep quality was measured using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire, and physical activity was evaluated using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), which categorizes physical activity into two levels: low and moderate. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square statistical test. The statistical analysis revealed no significant associations between central obesity and sugar consumption (p-value=0.603), salt consumption (p-value=1.000), fat consumption (p-value=0.545), sleep quality (p-value=0.603), and physical activity (p-value=0.983). This study concludes that GGL consumption, sleep quality, and physical activity are not significantly associated with central obesity among educational staff at UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.
