Jurnal Ilmu dan Teknologi Kelautan Tropis (JITKT) checks all submitted manuscripts for originality using the anti-plagiarism software, Turnitin. By submitting an article to JITKT, the author declares that no part of the manuscript is plagiarized from other sources. Proper references must accompany all content taken from different sources.

Strict action will be taken against cases of plagiarism! If a journal article has more than 20% similarity to other sources, the following will be done:
1. The author will be asked to reduce the level of similarity by correcting parts that are too similar to the source. This can be done by paraphrasing, referring to sources properly, or deleting problematic parts.
2. If the level of similarity is very high or considered plagiarism, the journal will be rejected directly.

All submitted papers must go through initial screening, and similarities will be checked through Turnitin.
