Vulnus laceratum pada burung kakatua jambul kuning (Cacatua sulphurea)
Abstract
Vulnus laceratum adalah luka yang berbentuk tidak beraturan akibat terkena benda tajam atau tumpul yang menembus kulit atau otot. Vulnus laceratum terjadi pada Burung Kakatua yang datang ke Rumah Sakit Hewan Jawa Barat. Pemilik mengatakan bahwa burung ini menggigit kaitan mainan yang ada di kandang. Kaitan besi tersebut menembus kulit di dekat paruh bagian bawah. Burung masih aktif dan nafsu makan masih bagus, namun saat minum air keluar dari luka robekan tersebut. Tindakan penanganan yang dilakukan adalah bedah penjahitan vulnus dengan anestesi total. Anestesi menggunakan Ketamine dosis 25-50 mg/kg dan Acepromazine dosis 0,5-1,0 mg/kg untuk Psittacine. Terapi pascabedah yaitu dengan pemberian Amoxicillin dosis 125 mg/kg secara oral dan salep Gentamicin mengandung antibiotik topikal untuk dioleskan pada luka jahitan. Pemilik mengatakan bahwan jahitan yang berada dikulit terlepas karena digaruk oleh burung setelah 7 hari pascabedah. Meskipun menyisakan lubang kecil dalam proses persembuhan, namun saat minum sudah tidak terjadi kebocoran lagi. Secara umum kondisi burung sudah membaik dan beraktifitas normal kembali.Downloads
