| HOW SIMILARITY IS ASSESSED |
|
Similarity screening is conducted to identify overlapping text, insufficient attribution, duplicate publication, and potential plagiarism. The editorial team evaluates similarity reports by examining the nature, extent, and context of textual overlap.
A similarity percentage alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. Properly cited quotations, reference lists, commonly used scientific terminology, and standard methodological descriptions are considered during editorial assessment. Manuscripts exhibiting inappropriate similarity or other ethical concerns may be returned for revision, investigated, or rejected.
