The suitability of manuscripts for publication in Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan is judged by peer reviewers and the editorial board. All the review processes are conducted in a blind review. The Chief Editor handles all correspondence with the author and makes the final decision as to whether the paper is recommended for acceptance, rejection, or needs to be returned to the author for revision.

The Chief Editor and the Associate Editors will evaluate the submitted papers on praqualification step for suitability for further review process within 1 weeks. The manuscripts will be evaluated by qualified peer reviewers selected by the Chief Editor and the Associate Editors. The peer reviewers should examine the manuscript and return it with their recommendation to the Chief Editor or the Associate Editors as soon as possible, usually within 3 weeks. If one of the peer reviewers recommends rejection, the Chief Editor will ask an Associate Editor to decide the acceptance or rejection of the paper.
Papers requiring revision will be returned to the authors, and the authors must submit the revised manuscript to the Chief Editor via the OJS of Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan. The Chief Editor sends the revised manuscript to the Associate Editors to check whether the manuscript has been revised as suggested by the peer reviewers. Associate Editors could give recommendations to the Chief Editor that the manuscript should return to the authors, accept, or reject within 2 weeks. After the invoice for the article processing charge is paid by the author, the acceptance letter will be sent by the Chief Editor. The manuscript is forwarded to the technical editor for editing and the layout process. The Chief Editor would send a letter announcing the publication issue to the authors.
Manuscripts are usually rejected for 3 general reasons: 1) The topic of the manuscript does not fit in the journal's scope and may be better suited for publication elsewhere. 2) The substance of the manuscripts does not meet Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan standards; the data may be incomplete; the methodology used is not appropriate; lack of novelty and no advancement of the existing knowledge; or there is no consistency among objectives, research design/method, evidence, and conclusion. 3) Manuscripts are not written following Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan guidelines in Instructions to Authors. These manuscripts may be rejected without a review process. Manuscripts could also be rejected in the review process if authors do not revise the manuscripts as suggested by reviewers and the editorial board, also do not give a response/rebuttal against the suggestions.
If the manuscript is rejected, the author will be notified by the Chief Editor with a statement of reasons for rejection. The author may appeal to the Chief Editor if he or she believes an unfair judgment has been made which enclosing the author’s reasons. The Chief Editor will review and discuss the reasons with the Associate Editors responsible for the manuscript, and later decide whether to accept or deny the appeal. The author(s) will receive the final version of the manuscript as a PDF file. PROOF of all manuscripts will be provided to the corresponding author. The PROOF should be read carefully, checked against the typed manuscript, and the corrections may be returned within 3 days.
Authors submitting manuscripts should understand and agree that copyright of manuscripts published is held by Jurnal Ilmu Produksi dan Teknologi Hasil Peternakan. The statement must be stated in a statement of originality and copyright release form (Author Declaration Form).
