About the Journal

MARINE FISHERIES: Journal of Marine Fisheries Technology and Management is a scientific journal in the field of marine fisheries technology and management. The journal publishes original research articles and reviews covering fishing gear, fishing technologies, fishing vessels and transportation, fisheries port policies and management, as well as marine fisheries systems. This journal has been accredited by the Directorate General of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia since 2015. The journal is organized by the Forum for Communication and Partnership in Capture Fisheries in Indonesia and the Department of Fisheries Resource Utilization, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University.  Starting with the 2026 issue, the journal will be published three times a year, in March, July, and November.

CALL FOR AUTHORS

In an attempt to improve global visibility and the quality of scientific publications, the Editorial Board has established a new policy regarding the use of language in submitted manuscripts. The following are the key points of our new policy:
1.    Acceptance of Multilingual Manuscripts:
The journal accepts the submission of manuscripts written in either Bahasa Indonesia or English.
2.    Translation Requirement (Indonesian Manuscripts):
Manuscripts submitted in Bahasa Indonesia will be translated into English prior to final publication. For those purpose, authors are given two options:
a.    Self-Translation: Authors must include a cover letter (Certificate of Editing/Translation) stating that the manuscript has been translated by a certified language translator.
b.    Through the Journal Editor: Authors may request an assistance from the editor for the translation process at an additional cost of Rp 500,000 (excluding APC).
3.    English Manuscript Requirements:
For manuscripts submitted in English, the editorial team will evaluate the languange quality. If the writing quality requires in-depth revision/major editing by our experts, the author will be charged an additional editing fee of Rp 500,000 (excluding APC).

This policy is implemented to ensure that every published article meets international writing standards so that it can be widely cited by the global scientific community.

Marine Fisheries : Journal of Marine Fisheries Technology and Management (p-ISSN: 2087-4235 and e-ISSN: 2541-1659) first published in 2010 and periodically publishes three times a year (March, July and November). Journal of Marine Fisheries is organized by Communication Forum and Partnership of Capture Fisheries and Department of Fisheries Resources Utilization Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences IPB University (MoU Document). Marine Fisheries Journal is a scientific journal that publishes results of studies in the field of technology and fisheries management

Since establishment, Marine Fisheries has been published in Bahasa Indonesia. On April 7th, 2026, Marine Fisheries has been accredited by No SK: 156/C/C3/KPT/2026 as one of reputable journals for marine field in Indonesia, specifically capture fisheries technology and management. We express our gratitude to the authors, reviewers, editorial boards and related parties for their support and cooperation. Now, it is time to face new challenges and made an improvement. Starting from January 2024, Marine Fisheries only receive manuscript in English. Hence, we invite researchers and academics in related fields to publish with us. During the transition period, editorial team will provide assistant for authors, especially in translating the manuscript (additional cost applied).
