Marine Fisheries: Journal of Marine Fisheries Technology and Management is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and taking all reasonable steps to avoid malpractice in publication. This publication ethics was developed to avoid irregularities in research and publishing, and to explain the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing scientific articles in this Marine Fisheries. This publication ethics is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and the Elsevier Publishing Ethics.
EDITORS
Review Process
The editor will evaluate submitted manuscripts through a pre-qualification process to assess their suitability for further review. Manuscripts may be rejected without review if they meet one of four general reasons:
The peer-review process is carried out in a double-anonymized system. Neither the author nor the reviewer knows each other. For this reason, authors and reviewers remove traces of names in the metadata of submitted files. This Marine Fisheries is committed to fair and objective double-anonymized peer-review and to preventing conflicts of interest between the editorial board, review personnel, and the materials reviewed.
Publication Decisions
Reviewers’ comments and suggestions are considered seriously based on their expertise. However, the final decision remains with the editor.
Fair Play
This Marine Fisheries evaluates manuscripts solely on their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
Plagiarism Checking
All submitted works are checked with anti-plagiarism software. Works detected as plagiarized will be banned from further processing. Marine Fisheries: Journal of Marine Fisheries Technology and Management screens routinely article submissions for plagiarism. Only manuscripts that fit the journal's scope, with less than 30% similarity (Turnitin checking), and conform to the journal format will be further processed for review.
Confidentiality
This Marine Fisheries ensures the confidentiality of manuscripts, actors, and other relevant information in the publication process.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished materials in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s personal research without the express written consent of the author.
AUTHORS
Authorship and Contributions
Authors are defined as individuals who have made significant contributions to the research. All authors named on the manuscript must submit approval of the final version before publication.
Involvement of Human or Animal Subjects
If the research involves human or animal subjects, the authors must ensure that the manuscript includes a statement that all procedures were carried out in accordance with relevant laws and were approved by the relevant institutional committees.
Data Retention Obligations
Authors must ensure that the research is original, analyzes the underlying data, and is able to retain the data for at least 5 years after publication.
REVIEWERS
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers should provide clear comments and opinions to the editor, which will be used as an important consideration in the decision to publish.
Contribution to the Author's Work
Reviewers should provide clear and constructive comments and suggestions to the author to improve the quality of the manuscript.
Confidentiality
In the two-way peer review process, the identities of reviewers and authors remain confidential.
Objectivity
Reviewers should ensure fair evaluation and avoid personal comments or criticism.
