Diare Kronis pada Trenggiling Jawa (Manis Javanica)
Abstract
Seekor trenggiling jawa (Manis javanica) jantan mengalami diare kronis selama kurun waktu dua bulan. Pemeriksaan fisik menunjukkan trenggiling mengalami kaheksia dan letargi. Hasil identifikasi laboratorium ditemukan Eschercia coli, Salmonella sp., Eimeria sp., Entamoeba sp., Giardia sp., dan telur cacing tipe ascarid dan strongylid yang diduga sebagai penyebab diarekronis dan malnutrisi. Pengobatan menggunakan kombinasi dari Flagyl® (metronidazole), Bactrim® (sulfamethoxazole dan trimethoprim), dan Spasminal® (methampyrone, papaverin HCl, dan ekstrak belladona) aman dan mampu memberikan peningkatkan kondisi trenggiling.Downloads
