MAPACE Journal
(Managing Agricultural Practice and Community Engagement)

Aims and Scope

MAPACE Journal is dedicated to the application and innovation of technology in the agricultural sector, with the goal of enhancing agricultural productivity, efficiency, sustainability, and the well-being of farming communities. The journal primarily explores how technological advancements can address key challenges faced by farmers, particularly in the areas of productivity, natural resource management, and the development of an inclusive and sustainable agricultural economy.

This journal addresses a comprehensive range of subjects pertaining to agricultural practices including crop cultivation, livestock management, and fisheries as well as participatory approaches to community engagement.

Suitable topics include:

  • Sustainable Agricultural Practices: Environmentally responsible farming, use of innovative technologies, and integrated production systems that enhance output while maintaining ecological integrity.
  • Community Empowerment: Strengthening the capacities of farming communities, farmer organizations, and partnerships with government and private stakeholders.
  • Natural Resource Management: Case studies and research on sustainable land, water, and resource management involving communities.
  • Social Innovation in Agriculture: Technology-based collaboration models, training programs, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Social and Economic Impacts: Assessments of the social, economic, and cultural effects of community-based agricultural initiatives focused on food security and well-being.
  • Agricultural Policy and Community Participation: Analysis of policies supporting community involvement and promoting inclusive and sustainable agricultural systems.

Submission

Authors must follow the instructions below when preparing the manuscript. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s general requirements will be sent for peer review. Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in the manuscript being returned for correction, causing a delay or possible rejection.

  • Manuscripts must not have been published or under consideration elsewhere.
  • All authors must sign the Author Declaration Form, downloadable from the journal website.
  • Authors are encouraged to perform self-similarity checking using software tools and minimize similarity (target < 20% excluding references).
  • Minimum spelling and grammar score is 80. Failure may result in rejection.
  • All submissions are reviewed by a managing editor and at least two reviewers (single-blind review).

Formats

Authors must use the provided template. Manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman, 1.0 spacing, A4 paper, margins 1.9 cm, Microsoft Word (.doc). Maximum 14 pages including references.

Manuscript Organization

The first page should include:

  1. Type of paper (e.g. Research Article, Review)
  2. Title
  3. Author names (with * for corresponding author)
  4. Author addresses and email of corresponding author
  5. Abstract
  6. Keywords

The following pages should include:

  1. Introduction
  2. Research Methods
  3. Results and Discussion
  4. Conclusions
  5. Acknowledgement (if any)
  6. References

Review articles, policy analyses, and research notes may differ in structure. Research notes should be a maximum of 5 pages and omit Abstracts.

Notes from Editors

  1. If the study involves interviews or surveys, ensure informed consent and permission to access private property is included in the methodology.
  2. Authorship changes after submission are not permitted.
  3. Student theses or dissertations must include supervisors as co-authors.
  4. Authors are encouraged to use a proofreading service to enhance grammar and spelling.
  5. Use past tense for Methodology, Results, and Conclusion sections.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word (.DOC not .DOCX), or RTF document file format.
  • The text is Manuscripts should be typed using Times New Roman fonts, single-spaced, one column, employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end. (customize author guidelines and templates)
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Guidance for Authors.
  • Most of the references come from current scientific journals (c. 80% published in the last 10 years), except for taxonomic papers.
  • Where available, DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • When available, a certificate for proofreading is included.
