Article Review Process (Revised Version)

The Jurnal Teknologi Industri Pertanian implements a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published manuscripts. The review process consists of the following steps:

  1. Manuscript Submission

    Authors submit manuscripts through the online submission system following the journal guidelines and template.

    All manuscript must have correct formatting to be considered for publication. Before submitting the manuscript to the Journal. Please check the Guide for the Author. Submission to this journal proceeds online via the homepage of this journal http://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jurnaltin or by mail jurnal_tip@yahoo.co.idjurnal_tip@apps.ipb.ac.id. The author will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of the various files. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor’s decision and request for revision, takes place by email.     Authors must suggest a minimum of three competent reviewers to review their manuscript during submission. This will assist the Jurnal Teknologi Industri Pertanian Editorial team in identifying capable reviewers, although there is no guarantee that any of the suggested reviewers will be used. The authors must adhere to the following guidelines: (1) Include affiliation and institutional e-mail of the suggested reviewers, (2) Justify the selection of each reviewer in connection to the paper, and (3) Suggest reviewers from different institution in Indonesia.

  2. Initial Editorial Screening

    The Editorial Office conducts an initial screening to assess within 3 days:

    • Relevance to journal scope
    • Manuscript formatting
    • Plagiarism screening
    • Basic scientific quality

    Manuscripts that do not meet the requirements will be desk rejected.

  3. Reviewer Assignment

    Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to two or three independent reviewers based on their expertise. The journal applies a blind peer review process.  The reviewer will have 2 (two) weeks to review the manuscript and write his/her comments on the recommendation form.

  4. Peer Review Process

    Reviewers evaluate the manuscript and provide recommendations:

    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject
  5. Editorial Decision

    The Editorial Board takes responsibility to decide the submitted manuscript based on the reviewer’s manuscript evaluation.  At least 2 (two) reviewers have gave similar decision; editorial board can directly decide “acceptance” or “rejection”.  If the recommendation of peer review is contradictory, we will wait for the third reviewer.  Decisions are made by considering the majority. Based on the recommendation of the reviewer or referees, the editorial board decides on a manuscript will be published or not.   

    The Editorial Team will make a summary and list the suggestion from reviewers to facilitate the author in making revision and improvement.

  6. Author Revision

    The manuscript that has been decided to be accepted by the editorial board is returned back to the author. The revised manuscript must be back to the editor within 2 (two) weeks, completed with the report of revision.  The revised manuscript will be evaluated by the editor to check whether the manuscript has been revised properly related to the reviewer suggestions, or still need more improvement.  If the manuscript is accepted then the editor board will issue a letter of acceptance for the publication.

  7. Re-Review (If Necessary)

    Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation, particularly for major revisions.

  8. Final Editorial Decision

    The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision:

    • Accept for publication
    • Reject
  9. Copyediting and Layout

    Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and layout formatting.

  10. Galley Proof

    The galley proof is sent to authors for final checking and approval. Electronic proofs are sent via email-attachment to the corresponding author’s as PDF file after the final review is completed. and should be returned within 48 hours of receipt.  Authors are suggested that this is the final version of the manuscripts and no significant changes will be made at this stage other than typographical or minor clerical errors.

  11. Publication

    The final manuscript is published online and assigned a DOI
