Sistem Penghidupan dan Nafkah Pedesaan: Pandangan Sosiologi Nafkah (Livelihood Sociology) Mazhab Barat dan Mazhab Bogor
Abstract
Kajian kemiskinan yang dilakukan oleh Sajogyo dan sekelompok sarjana ilmu sosial di Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) selama tiga dekade terakhir di abad 20, tidak dapat dielakkan akhirnya menyentuh ranah studi “mekanisme bertahan hidup” baik yang dibangun pada aras individu, rumahtangga, maupun aras kelompok. Analisis sistem nafkah dalam konteks transformasi struktur agraria dan pedesaan yang dikembangkan Soyogyo dan murid-muridnya, menghasilkan cara pandang yang khas tentang sistem penghidupan (livelihood system) dan kaitannya dengan dinamika perubahan sosial pedesaan. Konsistensi analisis yang dibangun tentang sistem penghidupan dan nafkah pedesaan mengantarkan studi nafkah berkembang cabang baru dalam sosiologi, yaitu sosiologi nafkah (livelihood sociology). Tulisan ini mengupas serba ringkas perbandingan tradisi/mazhab Bogor (Sajogyo dan para muridnya) dan mazhab Eropa (Chambers dan kawan-kawan dari Sussex Inggris) dalam menganalisis sistem penghidupan dan nafkah pedesaan.
