Abstract

The nutrition label is one form of dietary regulation as an effort to prevent the increase of non-communicable diseases. However, the habit of Indonesian people in reading nutrition label is relatively poor, including the group of nutrition students who should be accustomed to reading nutrition labels because they have experience learning nutrition labels in their lectures. This study aims to determine the differences in knowledge, attitudes, and behavior in reading nutrition label between nutrition and non-nutrition students of IPB University. This study used a cross-sectional comparative study design conducted in May-June 2024. Research data were obtained using an online questionnaire consisting of 41 main questions (10 knowledge, 13 attitudes, and 18 behavior) distributed to 51 nutrition students and 51 non-nutrition students. T-test results showed significant differences (p<0.05) in nutrition label knowledge, attitudes towards nutrition labels, and nutrition label reading behavior between nutrition and non-nutrition students. However, most of the nutrition students' behavior was in the poor category.
