Archiving Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship (IJBE) ensures the long-term digital preservation of all published articles to maintain permanent access to scholarly content. All published materials are securely stored and accessible through multiple repositories to guarantee their continued availability over time.

IJBE utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to preserve its published content and ensure digital continuity. This preservation system provides protection against data loss and secures access to the journal’s publications even in the event of technical failures or system changes.

In addition, authors and readers are encouraged to archive the final published version of their articles in institutional repositories, personal websites, or other academic databases, provided that proper citation and a direct link to the original publication in IJBE are included.

Digital Archive

IJBE is committed to the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of scholarly research. We ensure the permanence of our published content by regularly converting and updating digital file formats to comply with the latest technical standards, collaborating closely with international archiving organizations.

Local Archive

IJBE maintains state-of-the-art regional facilities for storing complete, accurate, and secure digital versions of all published articles. The current standard format for preservation is PDF, with all files securely maintained in this format.

Website Archives

All electronic content associated with IJBE (including websites, manuscripts, and metadata) is simultaneously stored across three distinct digital sources:

  • Primary Server: Hosts the live, online content accessible to our global readers.

  • Backup Sources: Two independent server sources maintain exact, updated mirrors of the primary content. In the event of a primary server failure, these backup sources can be brought online immediately to ensure uninterrupted website accessibility.

Self-Archiving Policy

IJBE fully supports self-archiving. We encourage and permit authors to maximize the visibility and impact of their research by uploading the final published version (Version of Record) of their article to personal websites, institutional repositories, or non-commercial subject repositories immediately upon publication.

Indexing and Permanent Preservation

  • Metadata & Availability: All published articles are assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI) by CrossRef. Articles are permanently archived and accessible in PDF format.

  • Automated Harvesting: IJBE makes article metadata available according to the protocols of the Open Archives Initiative (OAI), enabling seamless, automated harvesting by other digital archives and discovery services.

  • Global Indexing: All articles are indexed by major databases, including DOAJ, Google Scholar, and Index Copernicus, ensuring broad discoverability.

  • LOCKSS Initiative: IJBE participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) initiative. This allows participating libraries to seamlessly maintain their own secure archives of IJBE content with minimal technical overhead.

Journal Cessation Policy

While IJBE operates with long-term sustainability in mind, we have established a contingency plan for unforeseen circumstances. If the journal forces a cessation of publication:

  • All published manuscripts will remain accessible online for a minimum of 10 years.

  • Permanent content redundancy and long-term access will be guaranteed through the LOCKSS and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems.

Litigation and Data Retention Policy

In the event that a formal written claim, complaint, subpoena, or legal request is made involving the journal's electronic logs, records, or information technology systems (such as emails, editorial audit trails, or internal records):

  • Immediate Action: The Editor/Secretariat will be notified immediately to ensure all relevant documents and digital trails are preserved.

  • Targeted Backups: Secure, targeted backups of all dispute-related documentation will be created immediately to guarantee data integrity and prevent accidental deletion.

  • Local Media Protection: Information stored on local drives (e.g., C: drives, flash drives, external media) by the Secretariat or Editorial Board will be securely backed up to our institutional servers.

  • Strict Non-Destruction Guardrail: Neither the Secretariat nor the Editorial Department will alter or destroy any data once a potential complaint notice is received. The deliberate destruction of identified data is a severe violation of journal integrity and will result in strict disciplinary action.
