Peer Review Process

Editorial and Peer-Review Process
Acta VETERINARIA Indonesiana (Acta Vet. Indones.) implements a strict, objective, and transparent editorial and peer-review process to ensure the scientific quality and integrity of every article published. All stages of manuscript management are carried out in accordance with the principles of scientific publication ethics and best practices in academic journal management.
The process commences with the authors submitting manuscripts via the online submission system. Submitted manuscripts must be original works and formatted according to the journal’s writing guidelines. Initially, the Journal Admin performs a preliminary screening to verify administrative completeness, formatting conformity, and compliance with journal requirements, including plagiarism checks using a detection software. Should any discrepancies be identified, the manuscript will be returned to the author for revision prior to further processing of the manuscript.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are subsequently evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief to determine their suitability in terms of their scope and scientific quality. Manuscripts that are not aligned with the journal’s focus or that fail to meet scientific quality standards will be rejected at this stage. Articles deemed appropriate are then forwarded to the Section Editor, who appoints independent reviewers based on their relevant area of expertise. The peer review process is conducted objectively to evaluate the validity of the methodology, scientific contribution, originality, and clarity of the presentation of research findings. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, authors may be requested to make revisions, which will then be re-evaluated until a final editorial decision is made.
Manuscripts approved for publication will proceed to the copy-editing and layout stages to ensure consistency in language, writing style, and formatting according to journal standards. Before publication, the authors are given the opportunity to proofread and approve the final manuscript through a pre-publication agreement. Articles that meet all editorial and technical requirements are then officially published in Acta VETERINARIA Indonesiana and made accessible to the scientific community.
