Ciomas Village, located in Kertamaya Village between the Cisadane Riverbank and Ciomas Train Station, has landscape characters with different visual aesthetic qualities. The existing landscape condition is less attractive and needs assessment because the area is directed to support ecotourism development. This study aimed to identify landscape character distribution, identify visual aesthetic values, and analyze the visual aesthetic quality of each character. A descriptive qualitative method was applied through field observation, character identification, photo documentation, and visual assessment. The results showed that landscape characters with low and very low visual aesthetic values were associated with irregular environments, pavement dominance, slum impressions, poor spatial arrangement, weak integration with surrounding elements, and inadequate planning. Landscape characters with medium, high, and very high values were associated with orderly environments, neat spatial organization, absence of slum impressions, and integration with the surrounding landscape. Very high visual aesthetic quality was characterized by natural features across landforms, supported by proximity, height, base area proportion, and balance among landscape elements. The study concludes that overall visual quality remains relatively low and is not sufficient to support ecotourism. Environmental improvement based on landscape characteristics is needed to enhance visual quality and strengthen its potential as an ecotourism area.
