Ethical Clearance Policy

The Journal of Consumer Sciences is committed to upholding academic integrity and ethical standards in research. Effective for manuscripts submitted from September 2026 onward, the following requirements apply:

Authors submitting manuscripts reporting research involving human participants, including interviews, field studies, and surveys, must attach an official Ethical Clearance/Ethical Approval document at the time of submission.

The document must be issued by a duly authorized research ethics committee or equivalent ethics review body. The manuscript must also include an ethical approval statement specifying the name of the issuing committee or body, the approval reference number, and the year of issuance.

The Editorial Board appreciates the cooperation of authors, editors, and reviewers in ensuring the ethical integrity and accountability of research published in the Journal of Consumer Sciences.
