Generative AI Policy

This policy is adapted from Elsevier's Generative AI Policies for Journals and establishes the principles for the ethical, transparent, and responsible use of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in Jurnal Aplikasi Bisnis dan Manajemen (JABM). It applies to authors, reviewers, and editors.

For Authors

JABM permits the use of Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies only as tools to support manuscript preparation. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work.

Authors must review, verify, and edit all AI-generated content, including references, and disclose the use of AI in the manuscript before the References section. The declaration should state the AI tool used and its purpose. AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors.

If AI is used as part of the research methodology, its application must be clearly described in the Methods section.

For Reviewers

Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscripts and must not upload any part of a manuscript to external AI tools. AI must not be used to evaluate the scientific quality or prepare review reports using confidential manuscript content. Reviewers remain fully responsible for their reviews.

For Editors

Editors must keep all submitted manuscripts and editorial communications confidential and must not upload them to external AI systems. Editorial decisions and scientific evaluations must always be made by editors. AI may be used only for administrative or technical support (e.g., plagiarism detection, format checking, or reviewer recommendations) under appropriate human oversight.

Final Statement

JABM supports the responsible use of Generative AI in scholarly publishing. All AI use must be transparent, ethical, and must not replace the authors', reviewers', or editors' professional judgment and responsibilities.
