Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

GENERAL INFORMATION

(The Guidelines for Author have been updated and take effect since May 2020)

  1. Manuscript must be in original version, have not been published previously in any scientific journal. If the paper have been published in other scientific journal or author(s) do another fraud (such as plagiarism, data forgery, etc.), then the author(s) cannot published the paper on Marine Fisheries for 3 (three) times publication.
  2. Manuscript must be in the line of research topics.
  3. Research study within latest 4 years.
  4. Authors must be follow the content of manuscript before submitted.
  5. The journal is published twice a year; May and November.

Scope in General

MARINE FISHERIES: Journal of Technology and Management covers research results and studies that include aspects of technology, management, and policies in the field of marine fisheries. Articles will be published if they meet the following substantive requirements:

  1. Align with the journal's scope.
  2. Contain novel findings for science, in-depth discussions with up-to-date references, and completeness in execution (not merely repeating previous similar research or permutating methods and objects).
  3. Contribute to solving national issues.

Corresponding Author
Please, report clearly who is responsible for correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, including post-publication. Make sure that telephone and fax numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address. Full postal addresses must be given for all co-authors.

Manuscript Structure

  • Title: Written in two languages (Indonesian and English).
  • Authors' Information: Includes names, institutions, addresses, and emails of all authors.
  • Abstract: Written in both English and Indonesian.
  • Main Text: Comprising Introduction (including objectives), Research Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations, Acknowledgments, and References.
  • Authors’ Bio: A separate sheet including complete details such as full name, email address, home and institutional address, and author sequence.

Writing Format

  • Manuscripts should be typed using MS-Word, with 1.5 spacing, margins of 4 cm (left), 3 cm (top), 3 cm (bottom), and 3 cm (right), A4 paper, Arial 10 font, with a maximum of 20 pages (including tables and figures).
  • Title: No more than 15 words, reflecting the content, followed by the authors' names. Affiliations and addresses should be placed as a footnote on the first page (complete email and address of all authors must be included for correspondence purposes).
  • Abstract: A summary of the research including the problem background, research objectives, general research methods, and main conclusions, not exceeding 250 words. Keywords: 3-5 words.
  • Introduction: Briefly outlines the problem to be solved, the consequences if the problem remains, the state-of-the-art of research, and research objectives reflecting the steps to solve the problem. References should mainly come from primary sources (scientific journals).
  • Research Methods: Clearly and concisely describe the time and place of research, type and data collection methods, tools and materials, data processing, and analysis; explained as an integrated research process. Research data should not be older than five years from the manuscript's publication date.
  • Results and Discussion should be separate sections:
    • Results: Presented clearly without unnecessary details.
    • Discussion: Analyzes research results in comparison with scientific references (literature and previous research).
  • Tables:

Tables should have titles at the top and descriptions at the bottom. Use MS-Excel for tables. Tables should only have horizontal lines at the first row and the last row.

  • Figures:
    • Schematics, flow diagrams, and photos should be numbered sequentially with Arabic numerals.
    • Captions and descriptions should be placed below the figures.
    • Figures should be in black and white.
    • Graphs should use Microsoft Office Graph Object format and be presented without gridlines.
  • Formulas and Equations: Should be written using the equation format in MS Word.
  • Foreign Terms and Latin Names:
    • Foreign words should be in italics.
    • Latin names of species should follow proper scientific notation and be italicized.
  • Numerical Formatting:
    • Decimal numbers use a dot (e.g., 1.5).
    • Thousand separators use a comma (e.g., 1,000).
    • Currency values include the currency name (e.g., Rp 1,000 for Rupiah, US$ 1,000 for US Dollars).
  • Conclusion: Presented concisely, considering the manuscript's title, objectives, and research findings.
  • Recommendations: Contain suggestions for improvements and future research.
  • Acknowledgments: Given to parties involved in the research.
  • Citations: References in the text should be written with the author's name and year without a comma (e.g., (Anonymous 2020); According to Anonymous (2020); According to Anonymous et al. (2020); According to Anonymous and Anonymous (2020)).
  • References: Arranged alphabetically without numbering, check each reference against the original source (authors name, volume, issue, year, DOI Number). Please use Reference Manager Applications like EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, etc. Use other published articles in the same journal as models. formatted as follows:

Reference requirements:

  • At least 80% of references should be from scientific journals.
  • References should be from the last 10 years.

Adherence to the writing guidelines is mandatory for manuscript submission to the editorial board.
