Peer-Review Process
When submitting a manuscript, authors must comply with the Submission Preparation Checklist and use the official Article Template provided by BRCS. In addition, the Author Agreement Declaration must accompany every submission.
Once received, the Editor-in-Chief assigns the manuscript to a Section Editor for further evaluation. After an initial administrative review, the Chief Editor and Associate Editor conduct a pre-screening to determine whether the paper qualifies for peer review.
Manuscripts may be declined prior to review if they are outside the journal’s scope, fail to meet publication standards (e.g., incomplete data, inappropriate methodology, lack of originality), or do not follow BRCS’s author guidelines.
For manuscripts deemed suitable, the Section Editor will invite a minimum of two independent reviewers to evaluate the submission. If conflicting assessments arise, additional reviewers may be consulted. The review process follows a double-blind system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers, and maintains rigorous academic standards.
Following the reviewers’ recommendations, the Section Editor and Editor-in-Chief make the final decision on the manuscript. All stages of the review and editorial process are managed through the Open Journal System (OJS) platform.
