Transformasi Struktur Ekonomi Pertanian melalui Penguatan Sektor Industri Pengolahan di Kabupaten Pati

Transformation in economic structure in a region is an indicator of regional development. The changes of the economic structure is largely a shift from the agricultural to the industrial and processing sector. In Pati Regency, the agricultural sector contributes significantly to the regional economy, thus being categorized as a leading sector. Along with economic growth, there is a development towards the industry and processing sectors driven by the potential for creating high added value from these sectors. The aim of this research is to determine the regional key sectors and analyze sectoral contributions to the economy in Pati Regency. The method applied is descriptive quantitative by leveraging time-series data derived from the Central Statistics Agency of Pati Regency and Central Java Province. The analyzed data is Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices for the period 2020-2024. Analytical methods applied used the Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift-Share approaches. The research finds that the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industry is a leading sector in Pati Regency with a base category that has a comparative advantage with the highest and positive LQ value, while the industry and processing sector is included in the non-base category. The industry and processing sector shows the largest growth contribution with a positive structural change in economics in Pati Regency, based on the results of the shift-share analysis. This indicates the occurrence of a transformation driven by the utilization of local raw materials, investments, and technological advancements. The need for policies related to strengthening agricultural downstreaming in developing local resources and integration between stakeholders to encourage economic development in Pati Regency.
