Publication Ethics and Disclosure

Publication Ethics and Disclosure. AMJ is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, editorial integrity, and transparency. The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices, the Recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and other internationally recognized standards of ethical scholarly publishing. All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to conduct themselves ethically and responsibly throughout manuscript submission, peer review, editorial decision-making, and publication. The journal does not tolerate plagiarism, duplicate publication, simultaneous submission, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, authorship misconduct, or undisclosed conflicts of interest. Allegations of publication misconduct will be handled in accordance with COPE guidance.

The publisher is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record, supporting investigations of publication misconduct, and ensuring that commercial considerations do not influence editorial decisions.

Research Ethics. Research involving human participants must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable national and institutional regulations. Authors must report ethics committee approval, approval number where applicable, and informed consent procedures. Research involving animals must comply with internationally accepted animal welfare standards and institutional regulations. For studies involving biological materials, environmental samples, secondary datasets, medical records, or community data, authors should describe ethical approval or exemption, permissions for data use, and confidentiality procedures where applicable.

Clinical Trial Registration. AMJ supports the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) regarding clinical trial registration. Prospective clinical trials involving human participants must be registered in a publicly accessible registry before enrollment of the first participant. Acceptable registries include those recognized by the World Health Organization International Clinical Trials Registry Platform (WHO ICTRP) or ClinicalTrials.gov. Authors must report the trial registration number, registry name, and registration date in the manuscript. Randomized controlled trials should be reported in accordance with the CONSORT Statement.

Publication Misconduct. The journal investigates allegations of publication misconduct in accordance with COPE recommendations.
Examples of misconduct include plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, image manipulation, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, authorship misconduct, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Sanctions. Violations of publication ethics may result in rejection of the manuscript, withdrawal during editorial processing, retraction of a published article, notification of the authors' affiliated institutions or funding agencies, and temporary or permanent restriction on future submissions to AMJ.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing. AMJ is committed to promoting responsible research, transparency, editorial independence, and scientific integrity. The journal continuously applies internationally recognized ethical standards to ensure that published research contributes reliably to the advancement of medicine, nutrition, biomedical sciences, public health, veterinary medicine, occupational and environmental health, and One Health.
