Focus and Scope
Ma'asy is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing the comprehensive understanding and application of Islamic economic thought. The journal welcomes original contributions encompassing theoretical, empirical, historical, and policy-related aspects of Islamic economics, from both classical and contemporary perspectives.
We invite articles that explore, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Philosophy and Methodology of Islamic Economic Thought: Discussing the epistemological, ontological, and axiological foundations that shape Islamic economic thought, as well as relevant research methodologies for exploring and developing economic theories based on Islamic values.
- History and Evolution of Islamic Economic Thought: Critically analyzing the historical development and contributions of Muslim scholars from classical to modern times in building the corpus of Islamic economic thought.
- Studies on the Thought of Islamic Economic Scholars: In-depth explorations of the specific ideas, theories, and contributions of prominent thinkers and scholars who have shaped the direction of Islamic economic thought.
- Studies of Primary Islamic Literature in Economic Context: Analyzing and interpreting fundamental texts from the Qur'an, Hadith, and Turath (classical intellectual heritage) to identify principles, values, and guidance relevant to Islamic economic thought and practice.
