The Potential Bee Tourism in Community Forest of Wana Karyatani Sejahterah Forest Farmer Group

Abstract

The use of land for purposes for nature tourism can provide entertainment community. Nature tourism makes land use more efficient.  Nature tourism focuses on bee colonies its main attraction unique and beneficial form tourism. The benefits of nature tourism can be felt ecologically, economically, and educationally. This study aims to identify the potential for bee tourism in the Wana Karyatani Sejahtera Forest Farmers Group. The identification of tourism was carried out by considering the biophysical characteristics, tourism resources, and supply conditions of the village. 
Data on tourism potential was collected through interviews and field observations. The interview technique used was snowball sampling. Field observations were qualitative in nature to involve the social environment and observe diversity of social behavior according to existing roles. The interviews covered questions about the village supply conditions, tourism facilities, and tourist attractions. Village supply conditions were observed from physical and biological conditions. The tourism facilities obtained from the interviews included gates, food stalls, prayer rooms, toilets, and photo spots. The comunnity also requested the addition more land, the creation of an outbound area, a swimming pool, and the provision of borehole water. The addition of these facilities requires mutual cooperation among the villagers. This study expected to serve as a reference in creating environment-based tourism.
