  • Official Ethical Approval: If your research involves live animals (vertebrates or higher invertebrates), please ensure it follows institutional, national, or international safety guidelines. You should clearly state in your manuscript that you received official clearance from an institutional animal care committee (IACUC) or an equivalent body.
  • Kind and Humane Treatment: We ask that all handling, sampling, experiments, or euthanasia of marine organisms be done as gently as possible. The goal should always be to minimize any pain, distress, or discomfort to the animals.
  • Respecting Nature and Regulations: For field studies out on the water, please secure all the necessary permits and licenses from local or international fisheries authorities beforehand. It is vital that your fieldwork does not harm endangered species, sensitive marine habitats, or protected areas.
  • Our Responsibility: To stay true to our values, our editorial board reserves the right to decline any manuscript if we find evidence of unnecessary cruelty to animals or any violation of environmental laws.

If a genuine mistake or an ethical slip-up is found, our editorial office will act quickly to publish a formal correction, share an expression of concern, or retract the article entirely if needed.
  • Our Policy on Misconduct: To protect the community, authors who knowingly engage in severe ethical misconduct may face restrictions. This can include a temporary or permanent ban on sending future work to Albacore: Jurnal Penelitian Perikanan Laut, and we may notify the author’s home institution or research funders about the issue.
