Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS. Articles that can be accepted in the Tropical Fisheries Management Journal are the results of research, policy / methodological analysis, and scientific reviews relating to fisheries resource management. Articles must be original writings that have never been published in national or international scientific journals.

MANUSCRIPT. Articles written in Indonesian or English typed in one spaces, each page is given a page number. It should underline the words to be italicized. Uppercase letters are only used at the beginning of the word from the article title, paragraph title, and scientific name in Latin binomial or trinomial form. International System Units (SI), including those derived from, must be used. Manuscripts should not exceed 15 typed pages, including tables and figures. The articles are organized as follows: Title (in Indonesian and English), Author's Name, Author's Address, Abstract (in Indonesian and English), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and Suggestions, and Bibliography. The abstract is presented concisely with a maximum of 250 words.

TABLE. The table numbering is done sequentially. The table number must be identified in the text. Short titles of the tables presented must be typed in Indonesian and English.

PICTURE. Image numbering is done sequentially and must be identified in the text. Short titles of images must be typed in Indonesian and English.

REFERENCES. The bibliography consists of at least 80% in the form of national and international scientific journals of at least the last 10 years of a publication containing literature published or unpublished, such as a thesis or dissertation. References to personal communications or reports that are not available, must be written between brackets in the text. The Year-Writer system must be used in the text. A Bibliography must be arranged alphabetically from the first author. If there are two or more publications from the same author and in the same year, in the year of publication is added one lowercase letter that can distinguish. References derived from scientific journals must list all the names of authors, year of publication, full title, publication name, volume number, and the page number. For books must be written all the names of authors, year of publication, full title, publisher, place of publication, and total pages.
