In 2023, Indonesia, a developing nation, has an average healthy life expectancy of 72.13 years. This situation has fostered the belief that the elderly constitute a burden due to their diminished productivity and reliance on the younger generation for support. This research seeks to: 1) elucidate the interplay between customary systems and community behavior with the environment that may enhance longevity in Miduana Traditional Village; 2) examine the determinants affecting the life expectancy of the community in Miduana Traditional Village; and 3) develop policy recommendations aimed at fostering long-lived villages in the pursuit of Village SDGs. This study used a mixed-methods research approach. Primary data was gathered via offline surveys including 40 respondents and comprehensive interviews. The research findings indicate that the traditional system and community interactions with the environment through diverse activities enhance the sustainability of the Miduana Traditional Village. Moreover, elements of social interaction and individual personality significantly affect the life expectancy of the population in Miduana Traditional Village. Consequently, an innovative senior posyandu may serve as an alternate strategy for sustainable long-lived communities in pursuit of Village SDGs.
