Growth of sailfin silversides (Telmatherina antoniae Kottelat, 1991) in Matano Lake, South Sulawesi, Indonesia
Abstract
One of the endemic fish in the waters of Lake Matano is Telmatherina antoniae. This fish has potential as an ornamental fish because of its uniqueness. The purpose of this research is to analyze the growth of fish in the lake. The research was conducted in March 2018 - February 2019 at Lake Matano, South Sulawesi. These fish have negative and positive allometric growth patterns. The lowest condition factor values for male and female T. antoniae were in the Wotu Pali area and the highest were in the Petea River. The condition factor for female T. antoniae was the lowest in June 2018 and the highest in March 2018, while the condition factor for male T. antoniae was the lowest in October 2018 and the highest in January 2019. The growth coefficient for female T. antoniae is greater than that of males, T. antonaie Lt growth equation = 104.49 [1-e-0.22(t+0.54)] and female T. antonaie Lt = 103.37[1-e-0.28(t+0.42)].
