ESTIMASI STOK KARBON PADA BIOMASSA LAMUN DI PULAU KEDINDINGAN, KALIMANTAN TIMUR
Abstrak
Pulau Kedindingan merupakan wilayah yang masuk dalam kawasan konservasi perairan di Kalimatan Timur yang masuk dalam, namun informasi mengenai jumlah karbon yang tersimpan pada ekosistem lamun di pulau ini belum ada. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk mengestimasi stok karbon pada biomassa lamun di Pulau Kedindingan. Pengambilan sampel di lapangan pada bulan september 2021 untuk mengambil sampel biomassa lamun dengan menggunakan core berdiameter 20 cm. Pengukuran konsentrasi karbon organik pada biomassa lamun menggunakan metode loss on ignotion (LOI). Hasil penelitian ini menemukan 7 spesies lamun yang terdapat di lokasi penelitian yang didominasi oleh jenis Thalassia hemprichi. Konsentrasi karbon pada biomassa atas berkisar 30,8-31,7 % dan biomassa bawah berkisar 29,4-31,4 %. Nilai biomassa lamun di Pulau Kedindingan memiliki rata-rata 499,32 g/m2 dengan stok karbon yang terkandung pada biomassa diestimasi memiliki rata-rata 152,79 gC/m². Berdasarkan total stok karbon, jumlah karbon yang tersimpan pada biomassa bawah (80,24%) terlihat lebih tinggi dibandingkan jumlah karbon yang tersimpan pada biomassa atas.
