Perum Perhutani as a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) is tasked with providing quality and affordable forestry goods/services based on forest sustainability principles, where in its operations in KPH Cianjur it implements a semi-mechanical method in timber harvesting activities including chainsaw felling, skidding using modified motorcycles, and transportation and unloading using human labor. Log extraction using modified motorcycles called “motor engkrek” is common in RPH Cibinong, Cianjur. This study aims to analyze the productivity and operational costs of this extraction method. Data was collected through direct observation, time studies, and interviews with operators over a comprehensive research period. The modified motorcycles demonstrated an average load capacity of 0.19 m³ per trip with an average cycle time of 53.93 minutes. The results show that the average actual productivity was 0.21 m³/hour. The average extraction cost was Rp53,789.54 per hour with labor costs constituting 80.54% of total operational expenses. These findings indicate that the use of modified motorcycles is an efficient and cost-effective method for log extraction in difficult terrain. The study recommends improving skid road infrastructure, standardizing motorcycle modifications, and implementing delay reduction strategies to further enhance productivity and cost efficiency.
