Abstract

Siamese orange cultivation on West Kalimantan is carried out on peatlands which have a low level of soil fertility. The low availability of nutrients in peatlands can be overcome by applying biofertilizers containing bacteria capable of dissolving phosphate (BPF), bacteria capable of fixing nitrogen (BPN), or a consortium consisting of BPN and BPF as biofertilizers. This study was conducted to analyze the growth response of Siamese orange seedlings with the application of biofertilizer BPN (BPN 52) and BPF (BPF 523) . Data analysis using a completely randomized design with 5 treatments, namely, K + (inorganic fertilizer), K- (without inorganic and biofertilizer), P1 (BPF 1: BPN 1), P2 (BPF 1: BPN 2), P3 (BPF 2: BPN 1) with each conducted 5 replications. The results showed that the treatment of P1 (BPF 1: BPN 1) and P2 (BPF 1: BPN 2) did not significantly affect for the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, when it starts to germinate , germination percentage, wet and dry weight of seedlings. Treatment P3 (BPF 2 : BPN 1) showed a significant effect on the time to sprout parameter and gave the best value on the average time to sprout namely 8.75 days after sowing.
