These conditions mean that the people in Sangrawayang Village carry out many activities utilizing water resources, such as fishing. The fishing tools that are widely used are liftnet, and some people use special liftnet for fishing tourism. Fishermen's catches have decreased and stagnated in Sangrawayang Village, requiring innovative tools to increase catches, which can impact fishermen's welfare. The animal protein FAD attractor (FAD booster) is one of the tools that can help increase the catch of Bagan fishermen in Sangrawayang Village. The fisher community needs education in making FAD boosters to optimize fishermen's understanding of making these tools so that they can be sustainable and fishing communities can make tools independently. The use of the FAD booster in Sangrawayang Village showed a significant difference in catch results, namely 88%, compared to the catch in Bagan, which did not use the FAD booster. An increase in catches means that fishermen's income also increases, which can improve the welfare of fishermen in Sangrawayang Village.
Martien Andrew Sihotang, Zulkarnain, Rivaldi Abdul Rasyid, Dyaskila Fasha, Agus Mulyana, Raden Naufal Taufiqulhakim, Sinta Amelia Pulungan, Dita Yuwinda, Amri Adil Muhammad, Prafio Tazanesda Raharjo, Anisa Tri Rahayu, Zahra Aulia, Rosita Damayanti, Muhamad Zildan Sukmana, Aryo Laksono, Syarif Budiman Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Pusat Inovasi Masyarakat (PIM) https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/52029 Mon, 10 Jun 2024 13:28:55 +0700 Surveilans Stunting dan Gizi Buruk pada Balita serta Edukasi Ibu Mengenai Pentingnya Gizi Anak sebagai Upaya Pencegahan dan Penanganan Stunting di Desa Jeporo, Wonogiri https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/50458
Stunting and malnutrition are problems in the development and growth conditions of children under five caused by a lack of nutrition and nutritional intake during the early growth period, especially in the first two years of a child's life. This activity aims to help prevent and reduce the incidence of stunting in Jeporo Village by increasing community understanding regarding the importance of nutritional intake. This activity was carried out through assistance in determining stunting and nutritional status based on anthropometry, as well as socialization of participants at Integrated Service Posts (Posyandu) for toddlers in a series of IPB KKNT-Innovation activities. Indicators of success were taken by conducting random tests on Posyandu participants in each hamlet in Jeporo Village. Indicators of success were obtained by administering pre-tests and post-tests to Posyandu participants. The results of anthropometric activities at the toddler Posyandu showed that out of 7 hamlets in Jeporo Village, there were toddlers who were indicated to be stunted (four children were very short/severely stunted, while 32 children were stunted). There were four children with poor nutritional status, ten children with overnutrition, and three children obese. The socialization activity influenced the level of understanding of the socialization participants (which consisted of groups of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and mothers with toddlers in 7 hamlets in Jeporo Village) regarding stunting prevention by increasing the average score from 77.75 before to 90 after the activity. The authors hope this activity will continue so that Jeporo Village is free from stunting and the community can implement ways to handle and prevent it.
Fauzan Tiko Arasy, Balqis Naila Ath-Thifa, Nisrina Hasna Salsabila, Afini Rizkyana, Reza Alfreda Rahma Sandy, Nadya Azzahra Salsabilla Saragih, Valentino Silalahi, Putri Dewi Anjumi, Novericko Ginger Budiono Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Pusat Inovasi Masyarakat (PIM) https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/50458 Tue, 11 Jun 2024 16:12:43 +0700 Budidaya Ikan Nila pada Saluran Irigasi sebagai Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Purwasari dalam Industri Perikanan https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/51350
Purwasari Village is located in the Mount Salak area and has abundant water sources with great fishery potential. This potential is further developed by creating a tilapia fish farming programme in irrigation channels in collaboration with various parties, namely the Purwasari Village government, the ‘Mekar Sari’ Farmer Group, and the RW 06 Situ Uncal community. This aquaculture programme aims to empower the people of Purwasari Village to achieve the SDGs to increase community income, reduce hunger, and poverty. The tilapia aquaculture programme consists of making three bulkheads as tilapia aquaculture ponds in the Situ Uncal irrigation canal with 200 tilapia seeds 10-15 cm long spread in these ponds and making one other bulkhead to increase the water discharge and flow in the aquaculture pond. The Tilapia aquaculture programme in the irrigation canals has received great enthusiasm from the community of Purwasari Village as a step to increase the income of the surrounding community and as a means of education for the children of Purwasari Village in the aquaculture sector. Several community groups manage the ponds, such as the RW 06 youth group, the ‘Mekar Sari’ farmer group, and the RW 06 men's group. This tilapia farming programme is a step towards community empowerment by the potential of Purwasari Village.
Mercy Slait, Siffa Anastasya Komala, Mutia Malahayati, Kevin Pinondang Parulian Manurung, Dwi Nugraha, Fedya Fedrik, Dirgam Dapa Haidar Saparilla, Mira Nadhira, Dhiya Fatin Nisrina, Kinanti Dwi Rahma, Rima Fitria Adiati Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Pusat Inovasi Masyarakat (PIM) https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/51350 Tue, 11 Jun 2024 15:42:45 +0700 Pengenalan Inovasi Teknologi Rumpon Booster Protein Hewani pada Perikanan Payang di Pelabuhan Perikanan Nusantara Palabuhanratu https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/52283
Empowering the Payang fishers community in Palabuhanratu is urgently needed to find a solution to the problem of the increasingly low productivity of Payang fishing gear, especially during the lean season and moderate fishing season. This activity aims to describe the condition of Payang fishers, measure the technical factors of the payang fishery, and provide recommendations for community empowerment strategies. The method used was conducting FGDs, socializing aspects of science and technology, and testing innovative animal protein booster FAD technology on payang. Data was collected in November‒December 2023 using interview techniques with 20 fishermen who owned boats and 20 fishers with crew members. Fishing trials were carried out on 10 trips, with treatment and control of payang vessels in Palabuhanratu Bay Sukabumi Regency waters. The activity results showed that the technical factor score obtained by boat owner fishers was 1.60, and crew member fishers was 1.33 with an average of 1.50. The most vulnerable attribute for fishers who own boats is a fishing auxiliary of 1.00. Many pelagic fish catches were obtained on the treatment payang vessels due to the influence of the use of animal protein booster FADs, which caused fish to become abundant on the surface of the water. If the payang control vessels do not find any fish appearing on the surface of the water, the payang vessels will be directed to shallower waters to get demersal fish species, such as eteman and layur fish. Fish hunting patterns during daytime operations will result in quite a large fuel consumption because no fish are appearing on the surface. Thus, the use of fishing auxiliary called animal protein booster FADs is required for daytime operations on payang vessels.
Zulkarnain, Ronny Irawan Wahju, Fis Purwangka, Wazir Mawardi, Firman Maulana, Ende Kasma, Muhammad Syarif Budiman Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Pusat Inovasi Masyarakat (PIM) https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/52283 Wed, 12 Jun 2024 15:51:33 +0700 Pendampingan Penerapan Strategi Direct dan Indirect Marketing serta Uji Nilai Gizi pada Produk UMKM Wangirasa https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/53685
The service activity aims to increase knowledge and marketing skills at Bandrek Wangi Rasa MSMEs in Sinarsari Village through assistance in implementing direct and indirect marketing strategies, as well as testing the nutritional value of products to ensure quality and increase competitiveness in the market. In implementing this program, the parties involved were two students from the Faculty of Economics and Management, one alumni as project manager, one person as supervisor, and 3 IPB lecturers. The implementation method is divided into five stages: site inspection, problem discussion, program planning, implementation of assistance, and monitoring. Testing of product nutritional value is carried out by proximate analysis at the Nutritional Analysis Services Laboratory, FEMA. The direct marketing strategy for Bandrek Wangi Rasa MSME products is implemented by participating in product exhibitions at the Student Entrepreneur Expo 2023 event. Meanwhile, the indirect marketing strategy is implemented by creating a company profile and product introduction using the Shopee, Instagram and TikTok marketplaces. The results of nutritional content tests on three bandrek product variants show that the values for water content, ash content, fat content and protein content are in accordance with SNI 01-4320-1996 standards. Meanwhile, the total energy in the chocolate and milk variants is more than the lime variant. Testing the nutritional value of products can provide a comprehensive understanding of the nutritional composition of Bandrek Wangi Rasa products.
Fadhlan Tsany, Ivonia R. Hutajulu, M. Excessive use of chemical fertilizers degrades soil quality, while waste burning produces harmful pollutants. To address these issues, Kampung Cicere has become a model village for the SI-LEISA program (System Integration-Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture), which includes yard gardening socialization, waste sorting, composting, and vertical farming. This program is implemented through socialization and direct demonstrations to the residents of Kampung Cicere. The gardening socialization involves participants and focuses on waste sorting, composting, and vertical farming. Waste sorting is conducted door-to-door, producing organic waste processed into compost. The composting initiative has been successful, with the produced compost meeting the success indicators. The vertical farming program has also been successfully implemented, with plants growing well, albeit slightly smaller than those grown using conventional methods. The implementation of the SI-LEISA program received a positive response from the community. Utilizing yard space for vegetable cultivation has the potential to improve family food security and maintain environmental sustainability. The ease of implementation enhances the program's sustainability potential.
Fiona Ramadhini, Afif Miftahur Rohman, Azzahratul Ulya Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Pusat Inovasi Masyarakat (PIM) https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/pim/article/view/51538 Fri, 14 Jun 2024 13:54:40 +0700
