Abstract

The coastline generally changes position timingly due to abrasion and sedimentation. Changes in the coastline are influenced by several factors, one of which is due to the existence of coastal buildings. This study aims to determine changes in the coastline due to the breakwater beach building on Pramuka Island of Seribu Islands. Data processing and analysis methods were carried out using remote sensing technology. From the results of the processing and analysis of Landsat 7 and 8 satellite image data from 2010 to 2017, there were sediment deposits or accretion on the coast of Pramuka Island due to the breakwater building. The area of sediment deposits that occurred in 2010 was 7,731 ha, in 2015 it was 7,974 ha, while in 2016 it was 5,285 ha and in 2017 it was 5,387 ha. The emergence of sediment deposits along the coast due to this breakwater had resulted in a change in the coastline around Pramuka Island.
