PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN DAN KONSTRUKSI LAMPU ATRAKTOR PADA BAGAN
Abstract
Light attractor is one of fish aggregating devices to attract fish coming to a catchable area. Various types of lamps can be applied as light attractors such as petromax lamps, bulbs, mercury lamps, TL (tubular lamps), as well as LED (light emitting diodes). Efficiency of energy consumed, fishing effectiveness, and ease of use to be considered by fishermen in choosing a light attractor. Previous research of HPL (high power LED) light attractor in a stationary lift net succeeded caught 97.363 kg fish (3.6 fold than the TL attractor). The study was then repeated in a different water and caught 433 kg fish (1.9 fold). However, the attractor was not easy to use as the construction wasn’t compact and the light projection area setting was manually operated. This study aimed to improve the attractor so that it can be used by fishermen in daily fishing. As a result, the improved attractor was equipped with a hanging wire and a servo motor controlled by a microcontroller to manage light projection area, to make it easy to use. The research was conducted during June-July 2022 at Sangrawayang water, West Java. The conducted survey showed that the fishermen confirmed that the improved attractor was easier to use than the previous study’s attractor. Chi-square goodness of fit test of the survey showed that the calculated value of X2 (8.533) was greater than c2 (3.841), at 95% confidence interval. Besides, the improved attractor succeeded in catching 3.25 fold fishes than the fisherman’s attractor.
