ANALISIS KESESUAIAN UKURAN KONSTRUKSI UTAMA KAPAL PERIKANAN DI BEBERAPA PELABUHAN PERIKANAN DI PULAU JAWA
Abstract
Fishing vessels in Indonesia, are generally built by traditional shipyards. Ship building carried out by traditional shipyards is usually not equipped with technical planning. Technical planning in ship building includes general arrangement, lines plan, and construction plan. Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (BKI) is a national classification agency that has the authority to regulate the size of construction, connection methods, and determination of the type of wood on ships. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct a study on the suitability of the main construction size of the ship with BKI regulations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the suitability of the main construction size of fishing boats with the regulations of the BKI, and to describe the factors that can affect the suitability of the main construction size of fishing boats with the rules of the BKI in several fishing ports in Java. The method used in this research is survey research. The analysis used is comparative descriptive analysis and descriptive analysis. The size of ship construction in several fishing ports on the island of Java varies, depending on the main dimensions of the ship. The average construction size is 47,68% larger than BKI standards, 52,16% smaller than BKI standards, and 0,19% according to BKI standards. The average construction size difference was 9,25% greater than the BKI standard. The constructions whose average size is still below the BKI standard are galar beam, kim galar, and outer shell.
