Wiwin obtained his Bachelor in Soil Science from IPB University, Indonesia. Her master's was obtained from International Institute for Geo-information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), The Netherlands. Meanwhile, her Doctorate was gained from the Faculty of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, Twente University, The Netherlands, in the field of Remote Sensing. Currently, she is a senior researcher at Research Center for Geospatial, National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Indonesia. Her main research interests are the application of remote sensing and GIS for environment and land and water resources. In these subjects, she was involved in several studies, including disaster, land degradation, ecosystem services of watersheds, land suitability and land evaluation, as well as mapping of shallow marine water habitats, and mapping of coastal and marine water quality from remote sensing.
