Abstract

Trembesi (Samanea saman) is one of the alternative plants that can be used for land revegetation in post-mining areas. Trembesi plants can grow well if given good nutrients, namely by mixing soil with organic materials. Organic material that has the potential to improve soil physical properties is sawdust. The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the effect of giving agarwood sawdust compost as a planting medium and to determine the optimal composition of agarwood sawdust compost planting medium on the growth of trembesi seedlings. This observation method was carried out by paying attention to the percentage of survival, seedling height and stem diameter increase, sturdiness value, total dry weight, shoot-root ratio and seedling quality index. The data obtained were then analyzed statistically using SPSS software version 17.0. The conclusion in this study is that the provision of agarwood sawdust compost affects the percentage of life, height increase, diameter increase, and seedling sturdiness of trembesi seedlings and the optimal composition of agarwood sawdust compost for trembesi seedling growth is the P3 treatment where the average percentage of life is 60%, height increase is 2.98 cm, diameter increase is 1.13 mm, seedling sturdiness value is 8.46, shoot-root ratio is 1.56, and seedling quality index is 1.86.
