Available from: https://journal.ipb.ac.id/index.php/jmht/article/view/%20%20%20%20%3Cp%20class%3D%22Default%22%20style%3D%22text-align%3Ajustify%3B%22%3E%3Cem%3EThe%20establishment%20of%20forest%20plantation%20of%20Eucalyptus%20deglupta%20in%20the%20humid%20tropic%2C%20for%20pulp%20and%20paper%20industry%20has%20so%20far%20been%20hindered%20seriously%20by%20insect%20stem%20borer%20larvae%20%28Zeuzera%20coffeae%20%29%2C%20damaging%20young%20and%20mature%20stands%2C%20and%20cause%20important%20financial%20lost.%20Coupling%20with%20integral%20forest%20pest%20management%20and%20good%20silvicultural%20treatements%2C%20a%20strategy%20for%20resistance%20breeding%20program%20to%20stem%20borer%20larvea%20need%20to%20be%20developped%20for%20that%20promising%20species%2C%20in%20order%20to%20establish%20sound%20industrial%20plantation%20and%20to%20accelerate%20genetic%20gain%20achievement%20per%20unit%20time.%20This%20study%20deal%20with%20the%20assement%20of%20eucalyptus%20deglupta%20woods%20properties%2C%20%28including%20anatomical%2C%20physicals%20properties%2C%20and%20chemical%20substances%29%2C%20that%20may%20supposedly%20be%20directly%20implied%20in%20resistency%20mechanisms%20of%20Leda%20againts%20insect%20stem%20borer%20attack.%20The%20preliminary%20results%20indicated%20that%20sound%2C%20tolerant%20and%20resistant%20indvidual%20trees%20tend%20to%20have%20higher%20wood%20density%2C%20than%20unhealty%20one.%20Sound%2C%20resistant%20and%20tolerant%20trees%20tend%20also%20to%20have%20greater%20and%20statistically%20different%20in%20fiber%20length%2C%20fiber%20diameter%2C%20cells%20walls%20thickness%20and%20lumen%20diameter%20than%20that%20of%20unhealty%20one%2C%20especially%20from%20that%20one%20that%20have%20been%20fortly%20attacked%20by%20stem%20borer.%20The%20preliminary%20results%20also%20indicated%20that%20resistance%20trees%20tend%20to%20exhibit%20more%20alcaloid%2C%20terpenoid%20and%20flavonoid%20content%20than%20the%20unhealty%20one.%20However%2C%20the%20results%20need%20to%20be%20confirmed%20by%20addition%20of%20more%20wood%20samples%20to%20be%20analysed%20for%20each%20type%20of%20degree%20of%20insect%20injury.%20%3C%2Fem%3E%3C%2Fp%3E%20%3Cp%20class%3D%22MsoNormal%22%20style%3D%22text-align%3Ajustify%3B%22%3E%3Cspan%20style%3D%22font-size%3A12pt%3Bline-height%3A115%25%3B%22%3E%C2%A0%3C%2Fspan%3E%3C%2Fp%3E
